A Poem: The Angelic Visit
56
One night at our house...
We were all amazed one incredible night
I never will forget that glorious sight
An angelic being lit the night like the day
So full of light and brilliant that way
It really was amazing, as I think back now
We fell to our knees, before him to bow
But he lifted us up, we were floating awhile
As he spoke we found comfort in his warm smile
He told us this world is in its last hour
With rescue to come from the God of power
To those who humbly submit to His way and law
And repent wholeheartedly of their every flaw
He said the Father is deeply saddened so
To see His children running to and fro
Acting as if they had no eyes or ears
Blind to it all without any fears
Wasting time on trivial art
And playing silly games like “Noah’s Ark”
He reminded us what Christ said about this time:
“Except I return, no flesh would be saved alive”
And then the angel suddenly started to cry
The sight of it all made me wanna die
For in his heart I knew he spoke only truth
And I’ve been a lying child all the days of my youth
I was pricked in my conscience, this I do know
And shame and remorse covered my face so
He then looked me right straight in the eye
And spoke so gently that I began to cry
“It is okay, you’re not alone
There are many like you, so stop, do not moan
Believe when I tell you that you have a good heart
And God has looked down on you and set you apart
I am here to tell you He wants you as His
So listen and learn, and change your ways hence
Open the book and digest every word
Pray to your Maker, for you have been heard
He has been preparing you for this very hour
Get up quick, clean up, take a shower
Prepare yourself to stand before Him
Your King has forgiven, your eyes no more dim
His Kingdom is coming, oh it is so near!
Don’t be afraid now, you have nothing to fear
God will protect you, He’ll be your new guide
And no more will you have anything to hide
Live your life as if each day is the last
Change your future, you can’t change the past
Put on the helmet from your Savior and Lord
It is your salvation, His word is your sword
Be strong and courageous, be hopeful and true
Don’t give in to Satan and he’ll stay away from you
Fight for the faith, the truth and the light
You’ll see your King soon, put up a good fight
When he returns, a crown will be yours
He’ll place it on your head and open His doors
Into His Kingdom you will be summoned
A place prepared for you, the good race now run
Before I knew it, the angel was gone
I looked and looked up until way past dawn
I wanted to see him just one more time
To never let go of that aura so fine
When I think on it now, it still is amazing
And every chance I get, into the sky I’m gazing
But he was just an angel and my Savior is Lord
So I bow down to Him on my knees I am floored
I pray for His kingdom, I pray for His grace
I pray I will someday gaze into His face
To see Him up close as my King so fine
Glorious and real, together in love we’ll shine…

Such wonderful words to start my day Bluebird. Thank you.
Bluebird, reading your response reminds me so much of my mother, especially the last line: "God is good, isn't He? Praise His holy name." That's exactly what my mom would say. I miss her so much right now but I just felt connected with through this. Thank you.
this is so wonderful i love this
Yes, heavenly hosts have guided men throughout the ages and if we follow them wholly, we may take on many of their attributes.
Nice flow throughout and great message.
