Children in God's Eyes: A Poem of God's Love
69Thoughts of the Heart...
I’d like to think now I’m all grown
But then again when I’m alone
I look inside and humbly confess –
I am just a child, no more, no less
A child of God who has been blessed
I snuggle up close never leaving His nest
God in great love planned us and smiled:
“I am your Father and you are my child”
This world tells us it’s all about fun
While our Father desires we love everyone
Adults daily work in 123’s, ABC’s
As our Father works on eternity
In our free time we desire to play
God uses his time to mold us clay
Sometimes like children we take and grab
God keeps giving, His way is not drab
We are taught we must obey rules
As our Father is busy preparing his jewels
We tell our children to take their bath
God says, ”Clean up your mind and escape My wrath”
After supper parents and children sleep
Our Father never tires, our souls to keep
As silly monkeys at the zoo
God’s children look a bit silly too
Running around with no purpose or goal
Stuffing the flesh while starving the soul
Not one is smarter, stronger or higher than He
We forget life is more than just me, me, me
Losing our way as we suffer along
When God finds us, we know we belong
“My children, my children, little sheep
Love and obey me, your soul I’ll keep!
Don’t fret my child, don’t cry anymore
Listen, trust, believe Me, I open the door”
